/ April 2, 2012Hi Wanping,
I’m afraid I don’t use either modpodge or pva much, so I’m probably not the best person to inform you on substitutions for them. But if I do start using them or their substitutes, I’ll be sure to post about it!
The one thing I DO use quite a bit to add a bit of gloss and durability to some of my projects is simple water-based varnish or sealant that you can buy at the hardware store (about $7 for a small can around here, which will last you through a LOT of projects). You can see an example of my use of it here: http://tallystreasury.com/2010/09/round-paper-earrings/

/ April 2, 2012To be honest, I don’t do a lot of cartooning type stuff myself, especially since my drawing skills are waaaay rusty. :) But I’ll mull it over, and if a good project along those lines comes to mind I’ll be sure to try it out and post it!
